As the shadow of American imperialism looms ominously over Japan in 1855, the daimyo, a powerful feudal lord, devises a grueling test of might and mettle for his warriors. He announces a marathon, a rigorous race winding through the heart of the land, across whispering shores, through the enigmatic embrace of the forests, and over the challenging mountain terrain. His intent is to assess and harden his troops against the impending foreign threat. However, this unusual contest draws the ire and suspicion of the shogunate in Edo. Misinterpreting the daimyo's intentions as an act of rebellion, they dispatch a network of spies and assassins to infiltrate the marathon. Among them, one mole uncovers the truth behind the daimyo's marathon, revealing a grave misunderstanding that threatens to erupt into unnecessary bloodshed and undermine crucial alliances. Caught in a deadly game of deceit and honor, this lone mole finds himself in a race against time. The marathon transforms into a thrilling chase, with the fate of lives and alliances hanging in the balance. The mole must run, not just to survive, but to prevent the imminent chaos and preserve the fragile peace of a nation teetering on the brink of transformation.
