Fresh out of academia, Bram lands what he believes to be his dream job at a local newspaper, fancying himself the successor to journalism greats like Woodward. However, a year of reality quickly douses his dreams with the cold water of disillusionment as he finds himself penning articles about the city's top hot dogs and nostalgic listicles, rather than unearthing groundbreaking stories. After enduring yet another wave of layoffs at the paper, Bram stumbles onto a potentially explosive story involving the city's contentious mayor. However, he finds himself in a cut-throat race against Kamal, the mayor's silver-tongued aide. This could be the game-changing scoop Bram has been yearning for - if only he knew how to navigate the complex maze of actual journalism.
