His salvation comes in the form of a reclusive monk from the enigmatic Shaolin Temple, who imparts to him not only martial arts prowess but the essence of compassion.
A sudden, devastating twist occurs when the monk falls victim to a lethal poison. Honoring his dying mentor's last rites, Debao finds himself trapped by the government's relentless forces. Driven into the labyrinthine catacombs nearby, he stumbles upon the hidden wisdom of the Shaolin Temple. As he delves deeper underground, Debao hones his kung fu skills, emerging as a formidable force.
Returning to the surface world, he confronts the man who set him up, murdered his master, and now conspires to kill the Crown Prince. Yet, Debao finds a city consumed by avarice, compelling him to forgo his personal vendetta. Embodying the true Shaolin spirit, he chooses instead to combat the pervasive social injustice, becoming not just a fighter, but a champion for the people.
