In the bustling heart of New York, a decade after the tragic demise of his wife Janie, Jake Burns, a seasoned trial attorney and accomplished novelist, orchestrates a reunion steeped in nostalgia, secrets, and confessions. Acting on Janie's dying wish, Jake brings together his old compatriots from an enigmatic secret society at Yale, a circle that hasn't met since Janie's lamented funeral. The reunion draws in a motley crew of Ivy League luminaries, each treading a path of their own. Lloyd, a business tycoon, appears alongside his enigmatic actress girlfriend Minerva, eager to unravel the layers of her aloof partner. Barnaby, wrestling with alcohol addiction and a faltering career, comes hand in hand with Emily, his wife and an aspiring writer whose dreams are yet to take flight. Sadie, a once-actress now successful talent agent, craves a sense of fulfillment, while Saul, a revered physician and philanthropist, is accompanied by his wife Beth, who harbors a growing unease about the impending reunion. Eamon, a celebrated journalist with a razor-sharp wit and insatiable quest for thrill, completes the ensemble. Guiding Jake through this convoluted endeavor is Averil, his young executive assistant, who harbors a quiet romance for her emotionally unavailable boss, still haunted by Janie's ghost. Together, they recreate the society's traditional 'program', a raw and intense session of confession and critique, where each member is held under the unforgiving scrutiny of their peers.
