Plot

In a desperate bid to mend their fracturing marriage, following the heart-rending stillbirth of their first child, journalist Kate and architect Martin flee the bustling chaos of London for the stark, windswept beauty of Blackholme Island, off Scotland's west coast. This remote, unpopulated haven is home to Fairweather Cottage, a sanctuary where they once found love and solace amidst happier times. As they arrive on the island's rocky, barren moors, the chill of the autumn winds echoes the coldness that has crept into their relationship. Their attempt at reconciliation, however, is thwarted as the island's isolation becomes chillingly tangible. The generator and their only link to the mainland, a CB radio, begin to falter, amplifying their anxieties and the fragility of their bond. The island, once a haven of fond memories, now becomes a prison of their failing love and rising fears. As a violent storm leaves its mark on the desolate island, an enigmatic stranger, clad in military fatigues, washes up on their shore. Injured and unconscious, the man carries with him more than just a gun. Upon waking, he introduces himself as Private Jack Corman, a British soldier bearing a terrifying message - a lethal airborne virus is decimating Europe. Corman insists the only hope for survival is to seal themselves within the confines of Fairweather Cottage, transforming their retreat into an isolating fortress against an unseen enemy. Kate, skeptical of the soldier's claims, and Martin, swayed by the urgency of their plight, grapple with the reality of their situation. Is this stranger a harbinger of doom or another test of their faltering bond? As the threat of an impending pandemic looms, they must unravel the truth behind Private Jack Corman, while fighting to save their marriage and, potentially, their lives.
