Restraint (2008)

In the underbelly of society, small-time crook Ron finds himself on the run after the fatal transgression of murdering his girlfriend Dale's boss. Their desperate escape intensifies when Ron's reckless violence claims the life of a gas station attendant. Seeking refuge and a fresh vehicle, they stumble upon a secluded manor, home to Andrew, a wealthy recluse plagued by agoraphobia. Intrigued by Andrew's affluence, Ron concocts a scheme to exploit it, setting his sights on a new life in Thailand. An uncanny resemblance between Dale and Andrew's estranged fiancée, Gabrielle, provides the perfect opportunity. Andrew, haunted by Gabrielle's departure six months prior, proposes a daring impersonation plot: Dale will transform into Gabrielle, complete with dyed hair and a trip to the bank with two hefty cheques. But as they dive deeper into the charade, the best-laid plans start to unravel, ensnaring them in a web of deceit, danger, and unexpected developments. The line between reality and pretense blurs, setting the stage for a gripping drama that tests the boundaries of survival, identity, and desperation.
