Plot

In the heart of suburban chaos, "Raising Genius" is a delightful comedy that unravels the complexities of life, parenthood, and an eccentric genius in the making. Nancy Nestor, the epitome of a "perfect" wife and mother, finds herself at her wit's end as her teenage son, Hal, secludes himself in the bathroom. Amidst the ceramic tiles and aromatic soaps, Hal becomes captivated by the rhythmic bounce of a cheerleader next door, Lacy, using it as a muse for his mathematical equations scrawled across the shower wall. Hal's obsession with solving the equation and Lacy's hypnotic trampoline routine keeps him locked in the bathroom, much to Nancy's exasperation. Simultaneously, her husband is engrossed in his world of obsessive collecting, proving to be of little help. The plot takes an unexpected turn when a burglary incident invites the police into their eccentric household. Upon discovering Hal's self-imposed confinement, suspicions arise. The police, convinced that Hal is a victim held against his will, call in Social Services, spiraling the situation into an unpredictable whirlpool of events. As the Nestor family finds themselves under scrutiny, they must navigate the ensuing chaos while attempting to coax their prodigious son out of his porcelain sanctuary. "Raising Genius" is an engaging exploration of an unconventional family dynamic, the pressures of parenthood, and the intriguing obsessions of a young genius, all wrapped up in a blanket of comedic brilliance.
