Living in Katwe, a slum of Uganda, is challenging for 10-year-old Phinona, Nakku Harriet, her mother, and her younger siblngs, especially since she must care for a younger sibling and sell maize at the market. After she meets Robert Katende on a missionary program, she wants to learn chess and soccer. Once Katende teaches her, she goes on to aspire to compete. But will that desire get her far in life?
