Plot

In the opulent home of Jagannath Singh, a wealthy landowner, echoes a gunshot that extinguishes his life, marking the beginning of a gripping tale of mystery and intrigue. The enigma of his death lands on the desk of Police Inspector Khan, who soon discovers that two shots were fired that fateful night - one that claimed Jagannath's life and another that found solace in the mansion's wall. Enter Judge Amarnath Singh, the mirror image of the deceased and his estranged twin brother. A sense of duty and familial bonds prompt Amarnath to delve into the labyrinth of his brother's past, a path he must tread alongside Khan. The sprawling mansion of the late Jagannath becomes a stage where all those entwined in the mystery are summoned to play their part in this unfolding drama. The shadow of suspicion falls on a parade of aggrieved characters. Yamini, a woman scarred by Jagannath's heinous act of violation, and her protective brother, Kundan, who carries the weight of her suffering. There’s Suman, Jagannath’s long-suffering wife who silently endured years of abuse, and their son, Amar, who grew up under the tyrannical shadow of his father. The pressure of the investigation pushes Amar to the brink, leading him to confess to the crime. But is he truly the culprit or merely a pawn in a grander scheme? The threads of this complex narrative intertwine to reveal not only the identity of the killer but also the intricate relationship between the estranged twins - Jagannath and Amarnath. The story of Qila (1998) unfolds as a mesmerizing mystery, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats, guessing and second-guessing the identity of the true murderer.
