Plot

In the heart of the Emerald Isle lies Puckoon, a quaint Irish hamlet ensnared in a contentious debate over the precise boundary line dividing Northern Ireland from its southern counterpart. As the clock races towards closing time at the local pubs, a haphazard borderline is hastily etched onto the map, resulting in an unexpected division of Puckoon itself. Suddenly, barbed wires and military posts spring up like mushrooms, causing a town-wide pandemonium as residents find themselves trapped on either side, unable to access their own outhouses or cross the street. In a paradoxical twist, the townsfolk are squeezed into the smallest pub corner residing in Northern Ireland, where the beer flows as cheap as the village brook. However, the division's cruellest jest falls upon the church and its graveyard. The recently departed now require a yearly renewable passport to cross the border and find eternal rest "across the border". In response, a daring plan is conceived to repatriate the dead back to Ireland. Concurrently, a risky scheme unfolds to secretly transport explosives across the border using coffins, leading to an explosive chain of comedic events. Puckoon, thus, becomes a village caught in the crossfire of politics, humor, and the absurdity of a border that divides more than just territories.
