Plot

Amidst the simmering restlessness of 1930s Paris, two American sisters, Laura and Kate Barlow, weave a hypnotic spell across pre-war Europe with their spiritual medium act. Known for their allegedly authentic psychic abilities, they draw both sceptical and curious crowds, all eager to cross the ethereal bridge between the living and the departed during their mesmerising séances. Their lives take a dramatic turn as they cross paths with André Korben, a visionary French film producer. Dazzled by the sisters' enigmatic performance, he becomes captivated by the tantalising possibility of capturing a genuine paranormal manifestation on film. With the ominous shadow of World War II creeping closer, Korben stakes his prestige on this singular endeavour. As the sisters navigate their role in this ambitious project, questions arise - are the Barlow sisters truly conduits to the other side, or are they adept weavers of a grand illusion? Does their dark gift genuinely exist, or is it nothing more than an elaborate hoax? "Planetarium" is a suspenseful journey through a time of anticipation and uncertainty, where the lines between reality and the supernatural blur, and the promise of contact with the afterlife seduces even the most grounded of souls.
