Plot

In the blistering heat of Phoenix, Arizona, a simmering tension boils beneath the surface of the local police station. Among its ranks, an eclectic mix of not-so-virtuous men grapple with their inner demons. At the heart of this tangled web is Harry Collins, a superstitious cop consumed by a voracious gambling habit. This addiction plunges him into the clutches of a ruthless bookie, Chicago, and a debt that hangs like an albatross around his neck. Desperate to free himself from this financial quicksand, Harry hatches a daring plan with his fellow officers - Mike, an intimidating debt collector for a loan shark; Fred, the seemingly gentle soul harboring a complex life with his beloved wife, Katie; and volatile James, whose fiery temper is as unpredictable as Phoenix's summer heat. Their target? Louie, a local pimp and notorious bad guy, whose riches could be the golden ticket to their salvation. The stakes are high, and the path they tread is fraught with peril, testing the bonds of their friendship and their moral compasses. But with desperation gnawing at their heels, these men are willing to risk it all, blurring the lines between the law they were sworn to uphold and the crimes they are now willing to commit. Phoenix (1998) is a sultry, adrenaline-fueled journey into a world where the law is both the hunter and the hunted, and every decision could be a dangerous gamble with consequences that echo under the unforgiving Arizona sun.
