Celebrated crime novelist Bradley Thompson arrives in town, poised to accept an award for his latest literary triumph. But beneath the veneer of success lurks a charlatan. Thompson is notorious for pilfering ideas, plots, and even entire manuscripts from unsuspecting authors, publishing them under his name, and basking in the glory of their success. As the accolades pile up, so do the grievances of his victims, many of whom have become renowned writers themselves.
The tension reaches a boiling point at the post-award gala, where Thompson's flagrant arrogance ruffles the feathers of everyone present, including Perry's trusted secretary Della and his astute detective-assistant lawyer, Ken. The evening takes a deadly turn when Thompson succumbs to poison, and all fingers point towards his ex-wife. Wrongfully accused and desperate for justice, she turns to Perry, Della, and Ken, unleashing a whirlwind investigation to unmask the true culprit behind the lethal crime.
