Plot
After a period of depression that leaves him hospitalized, Patch Adams decides to pursue a career as a doctor. He finds that his unique brand of humor in treating patients is not well-received by his instructors and medical school roommate. Patch has to decide if he will defy the norms that are accepted by the medical community or forge his own path to a successful practice.
