Pastor Shepherd (2010)

In this whimsically eccentric comedy, Shepherd navigates life as a beleaguered, door-to-door salesman of freeze-dried pets, all while caring for his ailing mother in their shared solitude. Tormented by his boss, whose grasp on sanity is as precarious as Shepherd's sales, his world is further complicated by his mother's obsession with televangelists and her prescription drug addiction. Their meager finances are stretched thin as she ceaselessly donates to these charismatic TV "pastors". Their family doctor, sensing the desperate need for change, advises Shepherd to inject some excitement into his mother's life before she fades completely. With the loss of his job acting as the catalyst, Shepherd embarks on a journey with his mother and their quirky neighbors, the enigmatic Annamari-ah (Maria-Elena Laas) and her rugged father (Danny Trejo). Their destination? The grand spectacle of the End Times Revival Event! A journey of hope, faith, and unexpected laughter awaits this motley crew.
