In the throes of a life marred by alcoholism, Darryl Brandt's failures as a family man become unbearable, leading his wife Lynn to make a stealthy Christmas escape. With her children in tow and no concrete plan in sight, Lynn embarks on a new life, taking up a humble job as a waitress.
