Plot

In the sleepy town of Gibbings, Texas, a web of delusion and despair begins to unfurl when Detective John Lefsburg, a man grappling with personal loss and a disintegrating family life, finds himself in the unexpected role of caretaker for Simon Applewhite, a homeless man consumed by extraordinary tales of alien invasions. With his world reduced to the mundane and his spirit on the verge of breaking, Lefsburg is tasked with escorting Applewhite to a mental institution in the bustling city of Madison. Applewhite fills their tumultuous journey with outlandish tales of the Morgons, a species of lunar aliens referred to as 'Moonies.' According to Simon, these extraterrestrials always appear in trios, harnessing the cloak of the moon's dark side to orchestrate their covert operations on Earth. Communicating through radio towers and identifiable by a peculiar right nipple, the Moonies have supposedly chosen media tycoon Frank Coen to be their ambassador, their harbinger of doom for the human race. In a thrilling twist of fate, Applewhite escapes Lefsburg's watchful eye and abducts Coen's goddaughter, plunging both men into a whirlwind of chaos and revelation. As Lefsburg chases down the truth, his weary skepticism begins to crumble, unraveling a reality that is as terrifying as it is intriguing. "Pale Blue Moon" is a compelling tale of two lost souls, entangled in a dance of despair and delusion, where the line between reality and fantasy blurs and the stakes of survival reach cosmic heights. This is a journey of redemption and revelation, where the moon's pale light may hold the key to humanity's fate.
