Plot

In an oppressive future dictated by the mega-corporation Novicorp, Aram Fingal, portrayed by the dynamic Raul Julia, is an incredibly gifted yet utterly disenchanted computer programmer. His monotonous existence is peppered only with stolen moments of escapism, indulging in the classic film "Casablanca" at his work desk. His unauthorised cinematic dalliance is discovered, thrusting him into the unusual rehabilitation therapy known as "doppling". "Doppling" transports the minds of individuals into the bodies of animals, offering a unique, albeit amusing, perspective on life. However, during this peculiar therapy, Fingal's physical form goes missing, compelling the technicians to transfer his consciousness into a computer mainframe. Trapped within this virtual reality, Fingal must navigate the digital world, aided by the compassionate medical technician Appolonia James, brought to life by Linda Griffiths. As Fingal becomes a prisoner within the virtual realm, he ingeniously reprograms himself into a simulation of his beloved "Casablanca". His programming prowess grows, and he gains access to Novicorp's financial computers, threatening to bring the corporate giant to its knees. Beyond this daring rebellion, Fingal's ultimate quest remains - to return to his physical form before his memory patterns are irreversibly erased. Can Fingal, a mere programmer-turned-virtual-hero, outsmart the totalitarian regime and escape the entrapment of his own mind? "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank" is a riveting tale of technology, humanity, and the enduring spirit of rebellion against oppressive forces.
