The Darkest Minds (2018)

A bizarre virus suddenly strikes the world’s population, but only children are affected. It wipes out 98% of the planet's youth. The 2% left display unusual capabilities, such as the ability to alter the minds of others. A frightened adult population rounds up the remaining kids and places them in detainment camps where they are studied like lab rats and treated as threats to humanity. The gifted 2% soon realize they must rebel against their paranoid captors. They formulate a plan to escape imprisonment. Their special gifts will be a key weapon against the powerful adults.
