In the heart of a coffee shop-library hybrid, Carlos, a man of quiet charm, crosses paths with Irene, a woman engrossed in the allure of literature. Their encounter, unprovoked and spontaneous, births a peculiar friendship, bound by a set of whimsical rules: no recalling the past, no real names, no contemporary methods of communication, and a strict embargo on falling in love. Adopting the fanciful pseudonyms 'Crazy Fairy' and 'Mad Goblin', they spend their days wandering the city, immersed in esoteric, humorous discussions about life, love and their own identities.
Parallel to their enchanting escapades, Carlos grapples with completing his latest script, aided by Cristóbal, an eccentric writer with a peculiar obsession for Japan. However, the charming camaraderie between Carlos and Irene meets an abrupt halt when Irene unearths a startling reality. Carlos is, in truth, married to María, the new flame of Jorge, Irene's ex-boyfriend who recently left her for Carlos's wife.
As fate would have it, all four find themselves in the same place, spiralling Carlos into a tumultuous conflict between his affection for Irene and his commitment to his wife, María. Simultaneously, Irene must confront Jorge over his ongoing affair. This intricate web of relationships and love unfurls in a narrative that is as intriguing as it is captivating, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.
