Our Father (2016)

In the heart of Tel Aviv's nightlife thrives the Sky Club, a Mizrahi singing club, safeguarded by Ovadia Rahamim, the most formidable and fearless doorman in the city. Ovadia, a man as tough as they come, harbors a tender dream beneath his hardened exterior: to become a father. For five grueling years, he and his devoted wife, Rachel, have pursued this dream with no success, their hope dwindling with each passing day. Their fate takes an unexpected turn when Shalom Rosenthal, a small-time gangster with a keen eye, recognizes Ovadia's potential. Shalom repeatedly tempts Ovadia with an offer to work in the murky world of debt collection, promising him a lucrative income. This presents a tantalizing opportunity for Ovadia, a chance to finance the costly fertility treatments that Rachel desperately needs. As the narrative unfolds, Ovadia finds himself torn between loyalty and desperation, faith and ambition. When Rachel finally conceives, Ovadia, fueled by paternal instincts, plans to break away from Shalom's dangerous grip. But severing ties from the underworld proves to be more challenging than he anticipated.
