In the bustling city of Seattle, Ben Livingston, the influential CEO of a prosperous snowboarding equipment company, Charmed, and the renowned mystery writer Cara Reneau, are on the verge of tying the knot. However, the grandeur of a Roman wedding they initially envisioned becomes a distant dream, as their demanding careers constantly interfere with their plans. On a whim, they make a last-minute decision to celebrate their love where it all started - the enchanting Clara Lake ski resort, the place where their paths crossed, love blossomed, and a proposal sealed their destiny.
Cara's closest confidant and best friend, Megan Marquand, steps up to the challenging role of a maid of honor and wedding planner. Meanwhile, Ben's best mate and doctor, Sean, stationed overseas for a non-profit organization, is unable to join the festivities. In his stead, Ben's vibrant younger sister, Zoey, steps in as his best woman. Unbeknownst to them, Sean, too, is nurturing a romance, trailing a year behind Ben and Cara's love chronicle, and has orchestrated an extravagant proposal to surprise Megan with Ben's help.
As Cara struggles to pitch the perfect conclusion for her celebrated trilogy to her publisher, Renee, she stumbles upon the untold tale of Max and Clara Diecker, the founders of the resort. Their seemingly complex love story becomes the inspiration for her third book. However, Ben's past experiences of misinterpreting Cara's narratives might cause unrest in their relationship once he discovers her plan to conclude the trilogy.
Simultaneously, Ben finds himself entangled in a professional crisis. His decision to keep Cara in the dark until he achieves clarity might pose a threat to Cara's trust in him as a husband.
