Officer Down (2013)

In the sprawling urban jungle of Bridgeport, Connecticut, we find Detective David 'Cal' Callahan, a man with a checkered past and a present anchored by his loving wife Alexandra and teenage daughter, Lanie. Once a slave to the vices of drugs and alcohol, Cal's life was given a second chance when an anonymous savior pulled him from the clutches of a drug dealer's bullet. Fate brings Cal face to face with his enigmatic rescuer in a dingy bar, who hands him the diary of his lost daughter. The stranger tells a gut-wrenching story of his daughter's demise - a tale laced with the horrors of assault and rape committed by Angel, a regular at a nightclub owned by notorious drug lord, Royce Walker. Propelled by the stranger's tale, Cal plunges headfirst into a dangerous investigation. When he spots Angel loitering near his daughter's school, his fatherly instincts kick in, painting Angel as a predator. Determined to protect his daughter, Cal embarks on a mission for justice. However, he soon finds himself tangled in a web of manipulation, his every move seemingly choreographed by an unseen puppeteer. As Cal fights to uncover the truth, the line between the hunter and the hunted blurs, and he realizes he's not just an officer of the law, but a pawn in a much more sinister game.
