Plot

In the tranquil city of Toyokawa, Noriko Shimabara, a seemingly ordinary teenager, grapples with an unhappy home life. As a form of escapism, she immerses herself in the digital world of Haikyo.com, a popular forum frequented by other high school girls who share her discontentment. Among these virtual confidantes, the enigmatic Ueno54 captures Noriko's attention, eventually persuading her to flee her home. Noriko's journey takes her to the heart of Tokyo, where she encounters Kumiko, her online friend and the puppeteer behind the intriguing "family circle program". This program offers a sanctuary for disillusioned young girls, providing them with the chance to reinvent themselves and experience an alternative familial environment. Intrigued by this prospect, Noriko willingly enters the circle, and her younger sister Yuka eventually follows suit. However, the seemingly benevolent circle begins to reveal a more sinister side in the aftermath of a mass suicide involving 54 high school girls. Kumiko's unflinching control over the program intensifies, and the circle expands at an alarming rate. As darkness encroaches, Noriko must navigate her way through this complex web of manipulation, deceit, and newfound identities. "Noriko's Dinner Table" is a chilling exploration of the digital age, the allure of alternate realities, and the blurred lines between deception and reality.
