Nora (2000)

In the heart of Dublin, circa 1904, a magnetic connection sparks between James Joyce, a budding writer, and Nora Barnacle, a hotel maid newly arrived from Galway. Nora's refreshing candor and unapologetic authenticity beguile James, leading him to persuade her to accompany him to Trieste for his employment stint with Berlitz. As time unfurls, Nora becomes his beacon in the storm of phobias, his refuge from the abyss of alcohol, and an anchor to his wayward brother Stan. Her prowess in 'the writin' game' even manages to lure James back to Italy from Dublin, where he ventured to inaugurate a cinema. However, the serenity of their shared existence is shattered as James's corrosive sexual jealousy seeps in, pushing Nora to return to Galway with their children. The question lingers: can James conquer the green-eyed beast within him? And will the world ever bear witness to the fruits of his literary labor?
