Nico the Unicorn (1998)

In the enchanting adaptation of Frank Sacks' acclaimed young adult novel, the story of Nico the Unicorn unfolds. We meet Billy Hastings, a spirited 11-year-old boy grappling with a life-altering tragedy. A reckless drunk driver's actions have left Billy with a permanent leg injury, prompting a fresh start for him and his mother, Julie, in a quaint, unfamiliar town. The echoes of their past still linger, however, until an unexpected encounter at a ramshackle circus changes everything. There, amidst the faded grandeur and forgotten dreams, they stumble upon a neglected horse. Moved by compassion, they bring the horse home, only to discover it's carrying a secret - it's pregnant. But what seems like a simple twist of fate soon reveals itself to be a marvel beyond their wildest dreams.
