New Alcatraz (2002)

In the icy heart of Antarctica, a fortress of punishment named New Alcatraz stands resolute, housing the world's most nefarious criminals under maximum security. This frozen citadel of justice, however, holds a secret buried deep within its arctic confines - a secret awakened by the unwitting hands of a mining crew. As the miners delve into the permafrost, they stumble upon an organic rock formation, not knowing it serves as the chilling prison for an ancient predator. A monstrous prehistoric snake, as violent as it is gigantic, erupts from its stone-bound slumber. Unleashed, the snake embarks on a terrifying rampage, transforming New Alcatraz into its hunting grounds, and the humans into potential prey. The prison's roles are horrifyingly reversed, as the convicts, staff, and a dedicated duo of paleontologists are thrust into a primal battle for survival. Together, they must outwit and eliminate the serpentine beast before it claims the icy fortress for itself, relegating humanity to the bottom of the food chain. As the snake's voracious appetite grows, the race against time becomes a chilling fight for dominance within the frozen walls of New Alcatraz.
