Plot

In the heart of Berlin, My Zoe unfolds an intricate narrative of love, loss, and unwavering resolve. The film introduces us to Isabelle (Julie Delpy), a gifted French scientist, teetering on the precipice of a career breakthrough. Yet, her professional triumphs are mired by the lingering remnants of a bitter divorce and the struggles of co-parenting her cherished daughter, Zoe (Sophia Ally) with her British ex-husband, James (Richard Armitage). James' career has uprooted them to Berlin, a city that serves as the backdrop to their fractured family dynamics. The echoes of their toxic marriage permeate the air, setting a somber undertone to their otherwise benign existence. Yet, Isabelle is undeterred, focusing her energy on Zoe, her beacon of hope amidst the tumultuous aftermath of her failed union. However, life has a cruel way of testing resilience and when an unforeseen tragedy strikes the fragile family fabric, Isabelle is plunged into a vortex of despair. But it's in the darkest hour that Isabelle's indomitable spirit shines the brightest. She takes matters into her own hands, embarking on an audacious journey that defies the very fabric of motherhood. My Zoe is an exploration of the lengths a mother will go to protect her child, wrapped in a narrative that is as compelling as it is heart-wrenching.
