In the vibrant yet struggling city of Lyon, where unemployment is as common as the Seine's flow, we meet Marie, a prostitute who embraces her profession with a thoughtful enthusiasm that transcends age and shape of her clients. One fateful night, a homeless man seeks shelter in the entrance of her abode; compassionately, she provides him with a warm meal and a spot by her radiator to rest. However, her generosity doesn't end there, she offers more - herself.
An unconventional love story is born from these harsh realities, as Marie breathes new life into this man, gifting him with clothing and a place to call home. As he grumbles about the necessity of frequenting bars while she carries out her work within their shared space, she resourcefully secures a larger apartment. Yet, his restlessness grows, leading him down a path of seduction and manipulation, eventually pushing a manicurist into the same life Marie leads.
His reckless actions land him behind bars, charged with pimping, forcing Marie to confront challenging decisions about their relationship. Simultaneously, he must grapple with the ramifications of his choices. "My Man" is a tale that explores the intricate complexities of love, sacrifice, and survival against a backdrop of societal hardships.
