In the quiet expanse of an Ohio university, Patrick Hennessy Welsh held a respectable position, but greed led him down a path of deception, embezzling funds through counterfeit expense reports under unsuspecting professors' names. His misdeeds eventually unveiled, he leaves behind a note for his wife, Elisabeth, and sons, Chris and Ted, stating that he has taken his own life and will continue to love them from the beyond. As the years roll by, the family painfully adapts to a life devoid of a husband and father.
