In the quaint, unassuming town of Bethany, California, we find Clinton Moisey, an eccentric character with a tendency to blame his misfortunes on everyone but himself. Residing in the basement of his mother's home, Clinton's offbeat life is primarily fueled by his mother Edie's unwavering support, who drives him around, given his lack of personal transportation. Once the owner of a comic book store - a venture that fell through in six months, he now conducts an ongoing yard sale, peddling his goods in a roadside stand outside their home, while nurturing an interest in crafting collectible figurines. Clinton's life takes a drastic turn when his only confidant and companion, his cat Mouser, is found dead, shot by an arrow. Dissatisfied with the lax attitude of the local law enforcement led by Sheriff Hoyle, who is more interested in courting his mother, Clinton takes justice into his own hands. His pursuit of the truth propels him into a string of precarious situations, testing the limits of legality and morality. Joining him in his quest is Greta Chiplinsky, a former employee at the town's big box retailer, Fords Superstore.
