Murder by Death (1976)

In an intriguing weave of mystery and suspense, the world's most illustrious detectives, unbeknownst to each other, receive a tantalizing invitation from the enigmatic millionaire Lionel Twain (Truman Capote). The invite, promising a unique blend of "dinner and murder", is too irresistible to pass up. The intrigue deepens as Twain reveals his true intent: a murder will be committed at the stroke of midnight. The mastermind Twain asserts that the murder's perpetrator is amongst the dinner guests, transforming them from detectives to potential suspects. He challenges his guests to solve the murder before dawn, with the victor receiving a staggering prize of one million dollars and the exclusive rights to the story. As the clock ticks closer to midnight, the guests, now confined within the mansion's walls, wrestle with the eerie prospect of a killer in their midst. The tension escalates when the butler is found dead, hours before the promised murder. As dawn looms, the race to unravel the killer's identity intensifies, with each remaining guest striving to outsmart a criminal mastermind's elaborate scheme.
