Plot

In the captivating comedy, Multiplicity (1996), we are introduced to Doug Kinney, a diligent construction worker whose life is a juggling act of work, marital obligations, and fatherhood. With the demands of his life leaving him with virtually no time for himself, Doug finds himself teetering on the precipice of losing his marriage. However, an unexpected lifeline is thrown his way in the form of the intriguing Dr. Owen Leeds, a geneticist with an unconventional solution to Doug's problems - cloning. In this whirlwind of a tale, Doug, initially seduced by the idea of having duplicates to lighten his load, welcomes the idea of becoming a 'xeroxed' version of himself. It seemed like the perfect solution to his time-starved existence. However, as his clones start to seep into every facet of his life, it becomes clear that the solution may not be as foolproof as he'd hoped. Doug's clones begin to take over his home, job, and even his bed, threatening to unravel the very fabric of his existence, creating a pandemonium that is both hilarious and thought-provoking. Multiplicity (1996) is an enthralling ride, a comedy that takes the mundane struggles of everyday life and amplifies them with a sci-fi twist. It's a story of a man who sought to save his marriage through a genetic miracle, only to risk losing his wife - to himself! As the clones multiply and chaos ensues, you'll be left wondering if the cure is worse than the disease.
