Much Ado About Nothing (2016)

Fresh from the sun-drenched boulevards of Los Angeles, young and reckless Vicente returns to his native Chile, trading in a school of faces he barely recognizes for the familiar comforts of his parents' seaside haven. His days become a languid blur of sand, surf, and sundown revelry, a summer interlude punctuated by chance encounters and the exhilarating pursuit of fleeting romance. But beneath the intoxicating haze of one such moonlit escapade, the tide turns. A lethal hit-and-run incident shatters the tranquility, claiming the life of a local fisherman and ensnaring Vicente in a net of suspicion. His adamant denial, "I wasn't the one driving," hangs in the air, obscured by the foggy recollections of a night drowned in excess. His presence at the scene, his inebriated state, and the damning fact that the driver he vaguely recalls is the offspring of a formidable political figure, all conspire against him. As the noose of accountability tightens around his neck, the undercurrents of power and manipulation surge to the surface, dragging Vicente into a vortex of guilt and despair. What started as a summer idyll ends in a bitter winter of discontent, as Vicente's carefree days dissolve into a haunting court of judgement.
