In the vibrant urban jungle of New York, David Smith and Ann Smith, formerly Krausheimer, believed they were blissfully entwined in a passionate marital bond that had lasted three spirited years. However, an unexpected revelation shakes their world to its core. A peculiar technicality, a muddled jurisdictional discrepancy during their supposed marriage, hints that their wedded bliss was not as legally binding as they thought. They were, in essence, not truly married. Earlier, David had candidly expressed that if he had the chance to relive his life, he might not have tied the knot, despite his deep affection for Ann. Yet, in an ironic twist of fate, it is Ann who seizes this opportunity to embrace a new life as a single woman. She returns to being Ann Krausheimer, leaving a flabbergasted David grappling with the repercussions of his words. With the tables turned, David must now do everything in his power to win back the woman he inadvertently lost. However, the path to reclaim her love is fraught with obstacles as Ann immerses herself in the world of dating. Among her suitors is David's trusted friend and business associate, Jefferson Custer.
