In the small town of Warrington, England, the year 1993 unfolds a heartrending tale. Twelve-year-old Tim Parry is tragically killed by an IRA bomb while on a simple errand to buy a Mother's Day card, turning his life and that of another young boy into a symbol of senseless violence. The aftershock of this calamity reverberates through his parents, Wendy and Colin, who are left shattered and fragmented. Across the sea in Dublin, housewife Susan McHugh watches the unfolding tragedy on television and feels a call to action.
