As an ambitious sales representative at Solomon Wind Toy Company (SWT), Christy aspires to transcend to the design department, her love for toys and their impact on children's Christmas joy fueling her drive. Her shot at promotion hinges on impressing the CEO of Toys for All, David Berger, with a groundbreaking design concept at his holiday party. However, her enthusiasm dampens when she learns that the competition, Toys and Tricks, is also invited to make a pitch, and the celebration she anticipated was not for Christmas but Hanukkah, a Jewish tradition she knows nothing about. In a bid to master Hanukkah and secure her career progression, Christy turns to Jonathan Silver, the Jewish school teacher of her best friend's son.
