In the heart of the Cold War, scientists Steve Dayton and Dirk Green find their dreams crashing down when their moon-missile project is seized by government forces. Dirk, however, harbors a secret: he is a lunar being, yearning to return to his celestial home. Unyielding in his goal, he stumbles upon an unlikely opportunity when two escaped convicts, Gary and Lon, find refuge in their rocket. With a blend of coercion and persuasion, Dirk convinces the reluctant convicts to pilot the ship to the moon. Amidst the chaos, Dayton and his fiancée, June Saxon, stumble upon the covert mission. Drawn by a mix of concern for their friend and sheer curiosity, they become unintended stowaways on a voyage to the moon.
