Katie's chronic condition means that she isn't allowed outside in the daylight, and that means that the 17-year old has experienced a life far more sheltered than most. Even the smallest bit of sunlight will kill Katie, but that's not going to stop Charlie from helping her see the world. While she's had a crush on Charlie as long as she can remember, he just now seems to notice her. As their early romance blossoms, she begins to experience a life she's only ever seen from the outside, but Charlie's upcoming graduation from high school and the promise of college could change things forever.
