Plot

In the whirlwind of romance, love can strike with the intensity of a clap of thunder, or in Sanjay's (Uday Chopra) case, the crushing weight of a thousand bricks. As a hapless romantic, Sanjay's love life is a comedy of errors, a ceaseless dance of amorous missteps. But when a call comes that Anjali (Sanjana), his cherished childhood friend, is about to tie the knot, the reality of his feelings crashes down on him like an avalanche. His roommate, Ria (Bipasha Basu), with a keen eye for love's complexities, discerns the truth behind Sanjay's turbulent emotions. She understands he's helplessly in love with Anjali. Confronted with this revelation, Sanjay, though initially reluctant, acknowledges his feelings and resolves to embark on a daring mission — to halt the wedding. His heart swells with joy as he reconnects with Anjali, only for it to be pricked by the thorn of meeting the groom-to-be, Rohit (Jimmy Shergill). Rohit is the epitome of charm and charisma, a man who seems to have leapt straight from the pages of every girl's fairytale dreams. Yet, Sanjay's love for Anjali fuels his determination, prompting him to wage a war against the odds, subtly sowing seeds of doubt about Rohit in the minds of the family. "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai" is a riveting tale of love and rivalry, weaving together the threads of passion, friendship, and a battle between the virtuous and the not-so-virtuous.
