Downsizing (2017)

A man is depressed and feeling like he can't make a difference. A scientific revolution takes place, and it's suddenly possible to shrink people. The man decides to sign up for the procedure, and scientists turn him into a five-inch version of himself. His wife joins him, and they decide to become a part of a new community for people who have chosen to be small. What was hailed as a way to fix overpopulation and excessive resource use becomes a new and possibly insurmountable challenge in their bleak lives.
