Mera Lahoo (1987)

In the heart of an impoverished Indian hamlet, lives the widowed matriarch, Avanti Singh, with her two sons, Dharam and Govinda, and her daughter Preeti, the wife of a respected Police Inspector. Life takes a turn when Dharam ties the knot with Pavitra, a woman whose twin sister, Geeta, soon finds herself entangled in a romantic connection with the young collegian, Govinda. Yet, lurking in the shadows is Dhaneshwar, a wealthy local landlord with political ambitions and an obsessive fascination for Pavitra, his advances, however, met with nothing but disdain. The bond between Govinda and Pavitra sparks jealousy within Dharam, igniting a series of confrontations that result in Govinda's banishment from the family home. He finds refuge with a previous adversary, Chennu, only to return to the horrifying revelation of an attack on Pavitra by Dhaneshwar, which Avanti valiantly prevented. A vengeful Dharam meets a tragic end in his attempt to reclaim his wife's honor. In a blaze of fury, Govinda sets out to end Dhaneshwar's reign of terror, but instead, mistakenly slays Raunaki, leading to a thrilling pursuit that ends with his imprisonment. With Dharam gone and Govinda caged, the vile Dhaneshwar seizes the opportunity to violate Pavitra's dignity once again. Now, the question that remains is who will rise up to avenge the injustices inflicted upon Pavitra and the fallen Dharam? Who will deliver justice to Dhaneshwar's reign of tyranny?
