Mask of the Ninja (2008)

In the heart of the Malibu Hills, nestled amongst dense woods and aloft the roaring Pacific, lies the private sanctuary of millionaire CEO Kenji Takeo and his daughter, Miko. They eagerly await the homecoming of Kumiko, Takeo's wife, from Japan, amid the tranquil ambience of Solstice Canyon. However, the serene silence is abruptly ruptured as the Takeo estate falls under a meticulously orchestrated onslaught by a masked cadre of ninja assassins, their vengeance unyielding, their methods steeped in ritual, their weapon a deadly mystery, and their motive coursing in their veins. In the blink of an eye, Takeo's personal guards are brutally slain, the mansion is seized, and Takeo himself is mercilessly killed, leaving Miko, the only survivor, teetering on the brink of death. Detective Jack Barrett is summoned to the blood-soaked scene, where he meets the traumatized Miko, who, gripped by shock, echoes a single haunting word as if in a chilling chant: kokushibyu. A word from her native tongue, it ominously translates to Black Death. The chilling saga of the 'Mask of the Ninja' thus begins, as secrets unravel and vengeance rises from the shadows.
