Plot

In a quaint French hamlet, the robust and irresistible Italian logger, Manou, exists as an epitome of virility, his laughter echoing through the village, his allure impossible for women to resist. Yet, his charm stirs the cauldron of jealousy, and he finds himself accused of the recent deluge and fires that have plagued the village. Amidst this turmoil, the true perpetrator lurks in the shadows - the town's newly arrived schoolmistress, known as "Mademoiselle." Admired by the villagers yet wrestling with her own sexual repression, Mademoiselle harbors a consuming obsession for Manou. The first blaze is sparked unintentionally, but as she watches Manou, shirtless and heroic, battling the flames, a dangerous passion ignites within her. Subsequent disasters aren't mere accidents, but fiery expressions of her uncontrolled desire. Intriguingly, Mademoiselle's fascination extends to Manou's son, whom she initially befriends, only to later torment, stoking his suspicions and increasing his misery. This intricate web of Mademoiselle's sinister intentions, Manou's naive innocence, and the villagers' escalating xenophobia culminate in an explosive blend of tension and drama.
