Plot

In the quaint town of Long Lake, Washington, Hailey Goode balances a regular job at her father's accounting firm with her passion project, a non-profit known as Puppy Party Playdates. Alongside her best friend Dana Barton, they provide puppies for events and strive for their ultimate goal: to get these lovable rescue puppies adopted and to establish a dog park in the city. Hailey's dream faces a considerable obstacle, as the city-owned property she desires for the park is earmarked by Mayor Mark Betz and the city planner, whom she often refers to as a 'lug-head', for another bland strip mall. Hailey's life takes an unexpected turn when she encounters Ryan Hill, a five-year widower and father to eight-year-old Emmy, at her puppy parties. The spark between them grows as they become friends, and Ryan, though initially hesitant due to his dedication to his daughter, begins to consider adopting a puppy. The revelation that Ryan is the city planner or 'lug-head' she's been deriding adds a twist to their budding relationship. As Hailey and Ryan navigate their mutual attraction and professional differences, they must find a compromise that aligns with their goals. Meanwhile, Emmy grows fond of Hailey and the foster puppies, further complicating the situation. The journey to their happily-ever-after is fraught with hurdles, such as Ryan's struggle to move on from his wife's memory, and the interference of Kelly Donaldson, a city hall lawyer who has eyes for Ryan. Will love flourish amidst these trials, leading to a happy ending for Hailey and Ryan? Only time will tell.
