Plot

Renowned songwriter Hee-Soo (Kim Sun-Young), once celebrated for her melodic masterpieces, finds herself in the throes of a creative drought. A haunting loneliness envelops her, leading to self-doubt and the fear that her muse may have abandoned her. However, a chance encounter in the elevator of her apartment building with a young high school boy, Byun Joon-Suk, sparks an unexpected resurgence of inspiration. Hee-Soo is captivated by the boy's innocent curiosity and the unspoken intensity in his gaze. Intrigued and inspired, she feels the stirrings of a new song within her. Under the guise of providing music lessons, Hee-Soo embarks on a journey to teach this boy about love, a subject far beyond mere piano keys and musical notes. As the melody of their unconventional relationship swells, the young boy finds himself increasingly enchanted by Hee-Soo. With every passing moment, the completion of her song seems imminent. But just as the final notes are about to be penned, a figure from Hee-Soo's past, Joon-Ho, the man who first taught her about love and music, resurfaces. Love Lesson (2013) is a symphony of emotions, a tale that explores the complexities of inspiration, loneliness, and unconventional love. As Hee-Soo's new song takes form, so does a story that is as captivating as it is unexpected, all set to the rhythm of a love lesson that neither the high school boy nor the audience will ever forget.
