Plot

In the bustling heart of Beijing, Lin and Wang, a prosperous couple on the precipice of their middle years, grapple with a void in their lives - their inability to conceive due to her infertility. Lin, the owner of a foot-massage parlor, crosses a forbidden line one afternoon when he assaults Liu, an employee who is intoxicated beyond consciousness. This assault is partially witnessed by Liu's husband, An-Kun, a humble window washer, sparking a flame of fury within him. His wrath rains down on Lin's car, and from there, a complex game of blackmail and reparation begins. Intriguingly, Wang, Lin's wife, becomes an unlikely ally in this quest for vengeance. Amidst this whirlwind of emotions and planning, Liu discovers she's carrying a child. This revelation triggers a cascade of emotional negotiations: Lin yearns to purchase the unborn baby, Wang consents but not without her stipulations, An-Kun oscillates between decisions while constantly wrestling with his rage, and Liu retreats into herself. As the birth of the baby looms closer, the tangled relationships reach a boiling point. The question remains: Can they navigate this intricate web of emotions and desires to reach a resolution? Lost in Beijing is a riveting exploration of human complexity, set against the vibrant backdrop of a city in constant motion.
