Plot

In the unassuming world of Little Voice, or "LV", a life of self-imposed solitude prevails, her quiet days punctuated only by the vintage melodies of her late father's cherished record collection. A wallflower in the dance of life, LV finds comfort in the echoes of celebrated divas like Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, and Dame Shirley Bassey, her existence nestled within the confines of her room in an attempt to drown out her mother, Mari Hoff's, abrasive demeanor. Yet, in the silent veil of night, LV's world transforms. With the spectral visits from her father's memory, she steps into the spotlight of her bedroom stage, her voice, an uncanny homage to the greats, slicing through the stillness. This nocturnal recital remains her secret until one fateful evening, her performance catches the ear of Ray Say, one of Mari's undesirable paramours. Ray, a struggling talent scout teetering on the brink of obscurity, sees in LV a final shot at the elusive glitter of success. Driven by the desperation of fading dreams, Ray coerces a hesitant LV into the glaring limelight of a dilapidated local nightclub, managed by the enigmatic Mr. Boo. Amidst the whirlwind of preparations, LV finds solace in the company of Billy, a soft-spoken pigeon-racing telephone engineer, their unlikely friendship blossoming amidst the chaos. As the night of the performance looms, anticipation buzzes in the air. The stage is set, the band poised, even a high-profile agent from London enters the fray. Yet, the question remains: Will LV, the retiring songbird, finally spread her wings, or will the glare of the spotlight prove too blinding? The stage awaits Little Voice, ready to either make her a star or shatter her world. The curtains rise, and the music begins.
