Plot

In the heart of an enigmatic forest, a young woman named Isa finds herself waking from a solitary slumber, only to unite with her friends Arturo, Felix, Niki, and Sofi. Together, they continue their journey through the labyrinthine woods, their path filled with echoes of déjà vu and shrouded in a peculiar sense of amnesia. They cannot recall their origin, their starting point in the tangible world, or even the location of their parked car. Yet, they remain seemingly unperturbed, their time consumed by a unique language game, where they craft six-word truths, each phrase a small testament to their intertwined fates. Disoriented but not distressed, they rely on a handful of peculiar anchors: Niki's tape recorder, which chronicles their journey over the backdrop of baroque melodies, a map hidden within Sofi's backpack, and a mysterious house perched by a lagoon, its view of the sea a subject of their ongoing debate. The sea itself becomes their North Star, its allure promising safety downhill. However, beneath this puzzling stroll through the wilderness, a devastating truth lurks. Following a tragic car accident, only Isa emerges as the sole survivor, her four friends lost to the mortal world. Stranded between life and death, she guides her friends towards the realization of their shared fate. Their journey through the woods becomes a metaphoric odyssey of acceptance, their differences, once a source of unity, now construct barriers even in the afterlife. "Lions" is a haunting blend of mystery and revelation, an exploration of friendship, mortality, and the complexities of human nature, all woven within the threads of a seemingly aimless walk through the woods.
