Plot

In the vibrant hues of Finland, we meet Ruben (Nicolas Maury), a man who is as French as he is Jewish and as gay as he is colorful, living a life as whimsical as a blend of Pee Wee Herman and David Sedaris. Sharing this eccentric world with his lover Teemu (Jarkko Niemi), Ruben fills his days delivering mail, a profession that is about to propel him into a whirlwind of unexpected events. A routine delivery three days before Passover spirals into chaos when Ruben attempts to hand over an envelope brimming with euros to a stubborn widower who dramatically collapses on his lawn, refusing the delivery. The sudden windfall triggers a quarrel between Ruben and Teemu, leading Ruben to seek solace in Paris, leaving Teemu behind to sift through the peculiarities of the situation. In the heart of Paris, Ruben finds himself amidst the warmth of Passover celebrations with his mother (Carmen Maura) and stumbles upon the realization that someone in the city has been nursing a longing for him, a longing more profound than he ever anticipated. Meanwhile, back in Finland, Teemu strives to unravel the mystery, with the narrative weaving in enthralling performances by Jean-Luc Bideau, Didier Flamand, and Jean-Christophe Bouvet. Bouvet, playing the role of Commissaire, finds himself mediating a heartfelt jailhouse love declaration, adding another layer to this already rich tapestry of chaos, love, and longing.
